A very special coffee table for a very special client. From a burl found in a forest in the Basque Country, I was asked to make a coffee table.

After much thought, I decided that the best approach was to "clean" the wood and let its shapes speak for themselves. I added pointed steel legs so that they wouldn't visually steal the spotlight.

Sometimes the client just wants a plain table... luckily, this time was different. The wood was treated and treated again until my arm could take no more.

I was certain that the legs needed to appear fragile but would not be. The black steel combined in perfect harmony with the color of the wood.
